To help you celebrate National Pet Week in May and share with your students the responsibilities associated with pet ownership now and throughout the year, the American Veterinary Medical Association has developed a number of classroom materials to help make learning more about pets engaging and fun!

Lesson Plans and Activities

The American Veterinary Medical Association has developed twelve lessons and activity sheets for grades 1-4 that you can easily download and use in your classroom. Each activity has been designed to meet current national teaching standards in science and language arts. The AVMA has also provided a list of links to outside resources to supplement the lesson plans.
